Role description:
Island Spirit is seeking a dedicated and compassionate In-Country Lead to help deliver the Falepili Pathway Support Service, a key initiative supporting Tuvaluans migrate to Australia under the Pathway created as part of the Australia-Tuvalu Falepili Union Treaty. The Treaty stream visa offers Tuvaluan nationals the opportunity to live, work, and settle in Australia.

Responsible for ensuring the mobility pathway is implemented in line with project expectations within Tuvalu. Build awareness and educate on the mobility pathway and implement and manage the optional in-country visa application assistance program, including the successful delivery of pre departure briefing services. Assist in the design of a suitable rollout plan to promote the mobility pathway in Tuvalu. Provide insights on the best way to create an equitable community reach, as well as providing feedback on the best way to deliver program requirements, whilst staying within budget guidelines.
​Key responsibilities:

Establish and maintain effective relationships with community leaders, organisations, and stakeholders in Tuvalu.

Develop and implement the program’s in-country strategy, work plan, and budget.

Deliver education workshops and seminars regularly to promote awareness of the mobility pathway to the wider community.

Deliver education seminars to qualified visa applicants and conduct pre departure briefings.

Provide guidance and support to the in-country coordinator and support officer.

Monitor and evaluate the program’s activities and outcomes to ensure they align with the program’s objectives.

Identify new opportunities and partnerships that can enhance the program’s impact and sustainability.

Ensure compliance with program and organisational policies, procedures, and regulations in all in-country service deliverables.

Report regularly to the program manager on progress, challenges, and opportunities.

You will thrive in this role if you:

Are fluent in both Tuvaluan and English, with excellent communication skills.

Hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as business management, international relations, community development, or marketing.

Have at least 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in a corporate or government setting.

Demonstrate experience in stakeholder engagement and management, with proven relationships within your country (e.g., churches, NGOs, government, or other groups).

Possess strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

Have experience delivering and facilitating community meetings, small events, and briefings.

Are responsive and efficient with your time, capable of working autonomously yet thriving as part of a small team.
